Job Title: Construction General Laborer Job Description

The Construction General Laborer supports commercial construction projects by handling materials such as stone and rock, assisting in the building of large retaining walls, and performing a variety of general labor tasks to ensure projects progress safely and efficiently.

• Move and handle materials including stone, rock, and other construction supplies on commercial job sites.
• Assist in building large retaining walls and other structural elements under the direction of experienced crew members.
• Perform general construction labor tasks such as site preparation, cleanup, and basic support work throughout the project.
• Use basic hand tools safely and correctly to complete assigned tasks.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Arrive on time and ready to work each scheduled day, maintaining reliable attendance.
• Work diligently and consistently to support project timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the construction team and follow instructions from supervisors to complete daily work assignments.

• Previous construction experience, particularly in commercial environments, is strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials throughout the workday.
• Experience using basic hand tools safely and effectively.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to working hard and completing tasks thoroughly.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to show up every day as scheduled.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a construction crew.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors and on your feet for extended periods.

• Prior experience working on commercial construction projects is a plus.
• Experience assisting with building retaining walls or similar structures is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and take on a variety of responsibilities as needed.
• Positive attitude and readiness to contribute to a fast-paced construction environment.
• Interest in ongoing work opportunities beyond the main construction season based on performance.

This role is based on commercial construction sites where you work primarily outdoors and in physically active conditions. You will handle heavy materials such as stone and rock, use basic hand tools, and support the building of large retaining walls and other structures. Work typically continues through Thanksgiving each year, with the possibility of ongoing projects afterward for high-performing team members. You can expect a practical, field-based environment that requires appropriate workwear suitable for construction sites and varying weather conditions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hortonville, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Hortonville,WI.
