Job Overview
The full-time Audiologist will collaborate within a team-oriented setting to deliver exceptional audiological care. This role requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic ENT clinic alongside a diverse, multidisciplinary team. The audiologist will be responsible for diagnosing and treating hearing, balance, and communication disorders across all age groups, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and identify the type, degree, and severity of hearing loss in patients of all ages using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Demonstrate proficiency in conducting vestibular assessments, interpreting results, and advising patients on balance disorders and treatment options.
- Provide treatment options including hearing aids and assistive devices, as well as bone-anchored or cochlear implants, ensuring proper programming and rehabilitation support for patients and their families. Familiarity or willingness to work with brands such as Phonak, Oticon, GN ReSound, and Widex, along with Cochlear Americas for implants, is preferred.
- Conduct various tests in accordance with best practices, including standard and pediatric audiometry, VNG, EcochG, and ABR/ASSR for newborns and other populations as necessary.
- Comply with departmental documentation standards, ensuring accuracy, content quality, and timely submissions.
- Fit patients of all ages with custom and non-custom hearing protection and water protection devices.
- Engage in continuous education by reading professional literature, participating in relevant organizations, and utilizing resources to improve the quality of care provided in the clinical environment.
- Ensure compliance with legal and accreditation standards by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral Degree in Audiology (Ph.D, Au.D.): Required
Experience
- 1+ years of experience with Epic EMR: Preferred
Certification/Licensure
- Valid Audiologist License in the State of Texas: Required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency: Preferred
