Senior Network Security Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to support a government-focused organization dedicated to securing and modernizing enterprise network infrastructure. This position is onsite in Washington, DC . The Senior Network Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain advanced network security architectures with a focus on Cisco and Juniper technologies while supporting critical government operations. Responsibilities for the Senior Network Security Engineer include:

• Design, implement, and optimize firewall and IPS rule sets to maintain enterprise security standards.
• Monitor, maintain, and improve the performance and health of firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and network security infrastructure.
• Lead enterprise network security initiatives, including Cisco ASA to Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) migrations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, security procedures, and operational standards.
• Research, evaluate, test, and deploy new security technologies while providing expert guidance to network engineering teams.

Required Qualifications for the Senior Network Security Engineer include:

• 10+ years of IT experience required; internships, capstones, and other relevant experience may be considered toward overall experience requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Firepower, Cisco 802.1X deployments, DMVPN, and/or Juniper ADVPN. Candidates should possess experience in at least 3-4 of these key technical areas.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, firewall administration, IPS technologies, and routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Candidates may qualify with an Associate degree and additional relevant experience, or 10+ years of experience combined with multiple industry certifications.
• Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility.

Compensation for the Senior Network Security Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $150,000 - $155,000 depending on experience
• Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as required by law
