Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health Intake

Job Title Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health Job Type / Schedule Fulltime, Nonexempt Schedule: 3-12's, Weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 7am - 7pm Responsibilities Non patient-facing administrative role in an office setting; responsible for answering phones, managing fax communications, and processing referrals No involvement in admission processes or patient intake decisions Supports referral intake workflow, ensuring accurate and timely coordination of incoming referrals Coordinate behavioral health intakes, assessments, and admissions during first shift Act as primary liaison for patients, families, physicians, referral sources, and internal teams Conduct ED and inpatient assessments, verify insurance and prior authorizations, obtain admission orders, and facilitate timely placement Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being, support family communication, participate in care conferences, and continued stay reviews Maintain referral tracking and capacity management tools, collaborate with nursing leadership for staffing and quality outcomes Support community outreach, provide unit leadership and education, deliver age‑appropriate care across populations in a fast‑paced behavioral health environment Qualifications Associate's Degree Nursing (ADN) Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN) Preferred Current RN state license to practice Basic Life Support certification required Handle With Care (HWC) certification required within 45 days of hire/transfer Benefits Comprehensive benefits: multiple levels of medical, dental and vision coverage for full‑time and part‑time employees Financial protection & PTO: life, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, paid family leave and paid time off Financial & career growth: higher education and certification tuition assistance, loan assistance and 401(k) retirement package with company match Employee well‑being: mental, physical, and financial wellness programs (free gym memberships, virtual care appointments, mental health services and discount programs) Professional development: ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities EEOC Statement Maria Parham Franklin is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
