Gibraltar is seeking an experienced Powder Coat Supervisor to lead our powder coating operations in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, driving quality and efficiency, developing employees, and ensuring a safe work environment. What You’ll Do Lead and Develop Your Team Supervise Powder Coat Technicians and department personnel. Train, coach, and mentor employees to support performance and professional growth. Manage attendance, scheduling, and employee performance. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Drive Production Performance Coordinate daily department activities to meet production schedules and customer demands. Monitor workflow and staffing to maximize productivity and efficiency. Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping teams to maintain smooth operations. Ensure adequate staffing coverage for production requirements, including overtime as needed. Maintain Quality Standards Ensure all finished products meet company and customer quality requirements. Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, adhesion, and curing processes. Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions. Reduce scrap, rework, and coating defects through proactive process management. Promote Safety and Compliance Enforce all company safety policies and procedures. Conduct routine safety observations and address hazards promptly. Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with environmental standards. Participate in incident investigations and continuous safety improvement efforts. Improve Processes and Equipment Performance Oversee powder coat booths, curing ovens, pretreatment systems, and material handling equipment. Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the Maintenance team. Monitor powder usage, inventory levels, and department supplies. Identify and implement process improvements that increase quality, throughput, and efficiency. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 3- 5+ years of powder coating experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience managing production schedules and employee performance. Strong understanding of powder coating equipment, processes, and troubleshooting. Skills and Abilities Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection methods. Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and chemicals.
