Job Description

Job Description

Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a key support role for the 2026–2027 school year as a dedicated paraprofessional in classrooms serving students with specialized needs. Multiple contract positions are available across various schools and programs in Lehigh and Carbon counties, providing crucial assistance to students in Multiple Disabilities Support, Enhanced Autistic Support, and Emotional Support settings. Assignments and placements will be determined based on district needs and, when possible, candidate preference, with all roles requiring a commute of 35 minutes or less from your residence.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least one year of paid experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education environment
  • Ability to meet one of Pennsylvania’s state paraprofessional requirements (48 college credits, associate degree, or state/local paraprofessional certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire)
  • Consistent availability for a typical school day, beginning as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 3:30 PM, according to school assignment
  • Reliable transportation and comfortable with commutes up to 35 minutes
  • Experience or willingness to work in environments supporting students who may display challenging behaviors, require personal care (including lifting and toileting), or may elope

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct support to assigned students, including academic, behavioral, and personal care assistance
  • Collaborating closely with lead teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Supporting classroom routines and contributing to a safe, engaging environment
  • Following all school and district policies regarding behavior intervention, supervision, and student care

Benefits of this opportunity include contract stability throughout the school year, district-based placements, and interactions with a passionate community of educators. In-person interviews are scheduled weekly on a first-come, first-served basis, and a thorough onboarding/credentialing process is required.

If you’re committed to making a difference and meet the outlined requirements, apply today to secure your spot for the upcoming school year. We encourage candidates to submit a resume and plan for an in-person interview process. Let your dedication and experience shine in a role that matters.
