Senior Health Actuary Role In Pharmacy Benefits Pricing
Pricing partner to underwriting. Closer to a pricing and commercial partner than a modelling-heavy IC because sales, client consultation, and contract discussions are core to the position.
Senior Health actuary role in pharmacy benefits pricing for self-insured employers, based in Norwich, Vermont or Austin, Texas. You'll build pricing, trend, formulary, rebate, reserving, and reporting models; advise leadership and clients; and support sales proposals. The role requires an ASA, MAAA membership, and 5+ years of actuarial experience, including 3+ years in PBM pricing.

Domain: Pharmacy benefits pricing (AWP, MAC, dispensing fees, rebate guarantees) PBM pricing and pharmacy benefit program management Pharmacy cost and utilization trend forecasting Formulary and rebate modeling, specialty pharmacy economics
Must have:
- ASA designation
- Minimum 3 years focused on pharmacy benefits/PBM pricing
Strongly preferred:
- MAAA membership
- 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience manipulating large healthcare datasets using SQL, SAS, Python, or R
- Deep understanding of pharmacy pricing mechanics (AWP, WAC, MAC)
- Knowledge of drug pipeline impacts, rebate aggregators, and specialty pharmacy economics
- Collaborative and humble team behavior
