Advanced Electrophysiology Technologist RCIS/RCES
Join a dynamic team as an Advanced Electrophysiology Technologist specializing in invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and radiology procedures. This full-time role involves operating and ensuring quality assurance of imaging, patient monitoring, and x-ray equipment within a busy electrophysiology lab.
Education and Training: Candidates must hold current ACLS and BCLS certifications and have completed a radiologic or cardiovascular technology program with certification in ARRT and/or RCIS or RCES. Those with related healthcare degrees and an AAS who are registry eligible may apply but must obtain RCIS or RCES certification within one year of employment.
Experience: Prior experience in electrophysiology is highly preferred. Experience in invasive diagnostic radiology and interventional cardiology procedures is also valued.
Requirements and Skills: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to accurately assess patient needs and respond appropriately, possess thorough knowledge of medications, emergency procedures, and medical equipment, and be capable of initiating emergency actions within their scope of practice. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including radiologic technologists, nurses, and cardiovascular technologists are essential. Flexibility with work schedules and maintaining composure in high-stress situations are important.
Physical Demands: This role requires good hearing, clear speech, visual acuity, motor coordination, and manual dexterity. Physical stamina is necessary to perform medium to heavy work, including moving equipment and patients, and standing for extended periods while wearing lead aprons. The position involves exposure to ionizing radiation and potential contact with infectious materials. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and frequently carry objects up to 50 lbs is required.
