Job Title: Environmental Aide/Patient Transporter Job Description

Join our team as an Environmental Aide/Patient Transporter, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of patient movement within our hospital. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients and healthcare staff, providing essential support to our medical team.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and efficiently throughout the facility to various appointments, departments, and testing areas.
• Utilize a Rover/mobile device to receive and manage transportation assignments.
• Ensure professional and respectful interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Adhere to department procedures and patient-safety guidelines.
• Maintain productivity by typically transporting approximately 20–30 patients per shift, with a target of approximately 18 minutes per transport.
• Engage in downtime productively between assignments.

Essential Skills

• Customer service skills.
• Experience as a Patient Transporter, Hospital Transporter, or similar role.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication skills and a respectful personality.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use mobile technology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare, patient transport, hospital, or customer service is preferred.
• Comfortable interacting with patients and healthcare staff.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stay productive during periods of downtime.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work on a weekend rotation.

Work Environment

The position is based in a hospital setting, working as part of a team of approximately 40 employees. Shifts primarily run from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with a rotating weekend schedule. Initial training will take place from Monday to Friday. The role requires comfort with using mobile technology and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milton, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
