ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit team. This position involves working 12-hour shifts and floating to tele as needed.

Job Details

Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: One major and one minor holiday for both winter and summer

Unit Information

Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Number of Beds: 24
Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner PowerChart
Nurse Aides: None available
Charge Nurse: Yes (does not take patient assignments)
Floating: Required to float to telemetry with ratios of 1:4

Patient Care Responsibilities

Common Diagnoses: Trauma, Motor Vehicle Collisions (MVC), post-catheterization, post-CABG, sepsis, respiratory failure
Experience Required: General medical-surgical ICU experience, with trauma experience preferred
Procedures and Equipment: Vents and various drips (e.g., neosynephrine, levophed, vasopressin, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine)
Monitoring: RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips; no separate monitor tech available
Additional Patient Care: No travelers for CRRT, balloon pumps, or cranial procedures; travelers must have neuro assessment experience

Qualifications

Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU
Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Travel Experience: Preferred but not mandatory

Additional Information

Orientation: Two shifts on unit for floor-specific training
Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
Pharmacy Availability: 24/7
