Family Medicine Faculty Opportunity (with or without OB) with Aspirus Wausau Family Medicine Residency

\n

Faculty members are a foundational element of graduate medical education and provide an important bridge allowing residents to grow and become practice-ready, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care.

\n

Our program is a robust unopposed single specialty training program, supported by Aspirus Wausau Hospital and academic partners with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and Medical College of Wisconsin. The program is sponsored by Wisconsin Northern and Central (WiNC) GME Consortium.

Direct Patient Care and Resident Education & Supervision

\n

\n
• 50/50 clinical work and teaching
\n
• Round with the resident team 7 days out of the month at Aspirus Wausau Hospital\n
  \n
  • Experience our unique patient populations in rural medicine, cardiac medical and intensive care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, and neonatal intensive care
  \n
\n
• Work in our outpatient residency clinic 14 days/month (Aspirus Wausau Family Medicine)\n
  \n
  • Provide hands-on training and supervision
  \n
  • Provide regular and specific feedback to support learning and growth
  \n
  • Diverse patient population including whole families, persons living with HIV, gender affirming care, and addiction medicine
  \n
\n
• Participate and give didactics when appropriate
\n

Development as a Faculty Member/Program Time

• Recruitment and interviewing of new residents
\n
• Resident Evaluations and Milestone Reviews
\n
• Faculty Meetings/Committees/Accreditation Tasks
\n
• Conferences, Quality Improvement, Curriculum Review and Development
\n

• Desire to do OB care, including carrying a patient panel, will be heavily supported

• Pediatric call, including 2 weekends/year
\n
• No adult inpatient medicine call required.

• EPIC EMR is used throughout the system

• Participate in instructing non-resident learners including medical students, APC students, and hospital medicine fellows
