What Health System Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers. It may also consult and advise the healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes. Job Summary Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Ocoee, and we are currently hiring for a Pharmacy Manager. Pharmacy business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm and on-call as needed, closed on weekends and company holidays. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing all medication storage and preparation in the facility/pharmacy. They ensure that the pharmacy provides optimal services; meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements; and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the organization. The Pharmacy Manager coordinates, directs, manages, facilitates, and oversees the execution and evaluation of all administrative and clinical activities. Through the optimization of procedures, this role ensures consistent and efficient delivery to control costs, minimize waste, optimize customer relationships and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. The role also maintains inventory control and budget, manages staffing, monitors staff activities, performance, and achievement of individual and departmental goals. Responsibilities Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates all clinical activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including supervision of refilling machines, medical prescriptions database entries, and dispatch of medicines. Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates all administrative activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including scheduling of pharmacy technicians tasks, monitoring process compliance, and monthly reporting. Implements processes and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling, including reception and storage of medicines, inventory and expense controls. Manages day-to-day activities of pharmacy technicians and monitors their performance to meet departmental goals. Communicates with nursing, doctors, and administrative areas to provide alternatives when medicines are absent and oversees preparation of interventional drugs. Maintains pharmacist’s certifications, database privileges, and access controls to medical records. Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist. Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory, executes necessary orders, including reviews, to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs, identifying and procuring alternative drugs to mitigate risks when necessary. Leads processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, performance management, and competency evaluations documentation. Manages internal workflows of acute pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined operations. Participates in meetings and provides insight to hospital committees to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups. Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business. Assumes responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring and completing End of the Month reports as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD. Must be a “good standing” licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida. Must hold COR license. Hospital/inpatient experience preferred. Management experience preferred. Ability to develop, implement and lead all aspects of pharmacy operation. Ability to communicate clearly with customers and health care professionals. Excellent planning, organizing, and leadership skills. Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills. Pressure tolerance to perform in emergency situations. Ability to work on call or be in an on-call rotation. May require vendor credentialing.
