Job Title: Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, cutters, shears, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, slitter machines, and auxiliary equipment to manufacture metallic and plastic workpieces.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions to determine product specifications and plan efficient operational sequences.
• Start machines and adjust hand-wheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms in accordance with process requirements.
• Execute precision operating and coating machinery to achieve sub-millimeter accuracy in battery assembly and electrode production.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and measure dimensions using rules, templates, and other measuring instruments to verify accuracy of machine operations.
• Uphold a 99% quality pass rate by performing thorough in-process and final inspections and adhering to strict manufacturing and quality standards.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of document control related to production, including facilitating Batch History Records and maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation.
• Provide end-of-production run data and ensure all records are complete, accurate, and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
• Identify small variances in the manufacturing process that may affect product quality and take corrective action to maintain specifications.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues promptly, using strong problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Follow cleanroom and dry room protocols, including appropriate gowning, respirator use, and contamination control procedures.
• Use basic computer systems to enter production data, update documentation, and access work instructions and specifications.
• Collaborate with production operators, assembly technicians, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and consistent product quality.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area by following established safety procedures and equipment operation guidelines.

Essential Skills

• 35 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in roles involving machine setup and operation.
• Proven ability to run production machinery such as lathes, cutters, shears, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, and slitter machines.
• Experience working in a production, machine operation, or assembly technician environment.
• Ability to perform precise measurements and detect small variances in processes that may affect product quality.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a manufacturing setting.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom or controlled dry room environment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and accessing work instructions.
• Capability to wear a respirator on a full-time basis during equipment operation and setup.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Timonium, MD 21093.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
