Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Tele

Registered Nurse – Med/Surg

Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with the option for 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend requirements are every other weekend.

Contracts are available for 13-26 weeks. The maximum allowable request time off (RTO) is 7 days.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry.
• Certification in BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Proficiency in bowel obstruction care, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube management.
• Knowledge of renal failure management, blood product administration, and central line management.
• Experience with wound care, including Vacuum-Assisted Closure (VAC) therapy.
• Familiarity with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management.
• Ability to float to other units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous lines, including starting and maintaining IVs.
• Conduct assessments and document patient care accurately.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in rapid response teams and code blue situations as required.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and post-discharge care.

Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting the position. Staff may be required to work during catastrophic events or disasters.
