About Piccadilly Market

Piccadilly Market is a European-inspired neighborhood market bringing together great food, coffee, wine, provisions, flowers, and local finds under one roof. Our Lincoln Park location features an all-day café and deli, coffee bar and lounge, wine and provisions shop, cheese and charcuterie, retail goods, and an outdoor courtyard.

We’re looking for a General Manager to lead the daily operation of our largest location and help create an exceptional guest experience, strong team culture, and successful business.

The Role

The General Manager owns the overall operation and performance of Piccadilly Market Lincoln Park. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, solving problems, and balancing hospitality with business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

• Lead daily operations across the café, market, bar, retail, and courtyard.
• Maintain high standards for hospitality, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
• Lead from the floor and ensure opening/closing, cash handling, inventory, receiving, safety, and operating procedures are executed consistently.
• Identify challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency and the guest experience.
• Support events, activations, and community programming.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain a strong team.
• Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative culture.
• Develop managers and leads through regular coaching and feedback.
• Create staffing plans and schedules based on business needs.
• Address performance and workplace concerns promptly and professionally.

Financial & Business Management

• Own location-level performance, including sales, labor, COGS, and controllable expenses.
• Monitor sales and labor trends and adjust operations accordingly.
• Review P&L results and partner with the Director of Operations on budgets, forecasting, and business goals.
• Maintain strong controls around cash, inventory, waste, purchasing, and receiving.

Product & Brand

• Ensure strong execution across retail, coffee, deli, beverage, and prepared-food offerings.
• Maintain product availability, quality, merchandising, and presentation.
• Build relationships with guests, vendors, local businesses, and community partners.
• Represent the Piccadilly brand with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in a GM, AGM, or comparable hospitality leadership role.
• Experience leading a high-volume restaurant, café, market, retail, or multi-concept operation.
• Strong understanding of labor, inventory, COGS, P&L, and operational controls.
• Proven ability to hire, train, coach, and develop teams.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team.
• Genuine interest in food, beverage, retail, hospitality, and neighborhood experiences.

The Ideal Candidate

You notice when the pastry case needs to be restocked, know when the team needs another person on the floor, understand what the labor numbers are telling you, and still make time to greet a regular by name. You’re equally comfortable reviewing a P&L, coaching a manager, helping behind the bar, or jumping on the register when the line gets long.
