The Senior Accountant will be a key individual contributor, whose principal responsibilities will be the preparation of monthly accruals and prepaids for the SG&A business operation, accounting for fixed asset activity, and analysis of budget vs actual. The Senior Accountant applies U.S. GAAP and accounting research to evaluate software-as-a-service arrangements, capital projects, and other transactions. The team particularly welcomes those with a curiosity to learn, interest in developing new skills, and desire to show initiative.The Opportunity to Make a Difference Primary Responsibilities Include:Key contributor in the monthly close and financial reporting processResponsible for the reporting of actuals for SG&A functions, working with FP&A and the business to understand key drivers and variancesSupport fixed asset financial reporting and related ongoing processes including coordination with asset owners, tracking large capital projects, as well as asset tagging and disposalsBe the main Finance point-of-contact for SG&A business partner, including providing guidance to any inquiry of actuals, and vendor management. Preparation and recording of monthly journal entries with required supporting documentationEnsure account reconciliations are accurate and fully reconciled in several areas including but not limited to fixed assets, prepaids and SG&A accruals, and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare and manage IT and facilities budgets and forecasts with relevant business partnersResponsible for SOX 404 compliance in assigned areasEnsure responsible areas are complete and accurate in accordance with U.S. GAAPRespond to audit support requests and inquiries related to the external and internal audit firms’ testingPrepare and present monthly and quarterly flux analyses for budget vs. actuals and period on period actuals vs. actualsAssist in the streamlining of accounting business processes to improve productivity and create operating efficiencies across the companyAssist with other ad-hoc tasks as assigned in the areas of SG&A expense and facilities activity.More about You · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, or equivalent experience· 4-6 years of experience in accounting; preferably with experience in public accounting· CPA or equivalent is preferred· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight periodic reporting deadlines· Willingness to learn from team members and adapt to growing business needs· Effective written and oral communication skills· Confident relationship management skills and comfortable communicator to all levels of the business· Ability to work and problem-solve independently, but embraces teamwork and collaboration· Effective critical thinking skills to brainstorm process improvements and create efficiencies· Experience in using large ERP systems is a plus, preferably Oracle, though full training will be provided· Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and an interest in data analytics tools or process automationWhat Now? Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges.
