Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a night shift ICU position in Smyrna, TN requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active TN or Compact RN license.

Job Details

• 16-bed ICU within a Level III Trauma hospital,
• Patient ratio of 2:1,
• Unit is supported by a dedicated unit tech and unit secretary,
• Equipment includes GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Draeger ventilators,
• Charting is done in Meditech,
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating is done in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license - TN or Compact - required,
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required,
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start),
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required for ICU RNs,
• Proficiency with ventilator/sedation management and medication titration required,
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration,
• One professional reference required,
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months,

Additional Information

• Procedures performed on the unit include trach placement, bronchoscopy, and cardioversion,
• Candidates are expected to follow AIDET communication standards, maintain patient communication boards, and provide medication teaching,
• Charcoal gray scrubs required,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible for this position
