JOB DESCRIPTION

*The semi truck driver position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a semi truck to transport materials to the facility, customer, and / or the landfill.

Essential Functions

Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
Find ways to conserve resources such as fuel.
Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle and report any problems or damage to the manager.
Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
Interact courteously with customers and respond to requests: assist management in resolving customer issues or suggestions.
Operate forklift or skid steer to load or unload the truck.
Serve as a representative of the company, projecting a positive image to the public.
Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Maintains and submits DOT e-logs, and inspection paperwork.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud when in the field.

Travel

Travel is out of the area and overnight travel is expected.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED.
1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.

Preferred Education and Experience

Clean driving record.
