RQ Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Jacksonville, Florida. Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, our employee-owned culture emphasizes innovation, teamwork, professional development, and delivering high-quality work that makes a lasting impact.Position OverviewThe Senior Civil Engineer will lead and manage multiple civil engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with military and federal design standards. This role combines technical expertise, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.Key responsibilities include site development planning, grading and drainage design, utility coordination, construction support, and resolving technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys mentoring junior staff, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.What You'll DoPrepare and oversee civil engineering designs for commercial and federal construction projectsDevelop grading, drainage, utility, and site layout plansCoordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and construction teamsConduct site visits and support field operations as neededEnsure designs meet applicable U.S. military and federal requirementsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staffManage multiple projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectationsAssist with process improvements and departmental growth initiativesCompensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 annually, depending on experienceMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation, sick leave, and holidaysHybrid work schedule with remote flexibility on Thursdays and FridaysRelocation assistance for qualified candidatesQualificationsBachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license requiredMinimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, project delivery, or related industrial construction projects (foundation and below aspects: design land development, building pads, infrastructure for new builds, etc.) At least 6 years of experience focused on grading, drainage, and utility designDepartment of Defense (DoD) project experience preferredProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel requiredAbility to travel to project sites as neededRQ Construction is a full-service Design-Build contractor with offices and projects throughout the United States and Caribbean.
