BCBA (Board Certified Behavioral Analyst) Position Type: Full-time Salary: $77,425 to $136,801 Per Year Location: Nantucket Public Schools, Nantucket, Massachusetts Job Description The Nantucket Public Schools seeks a licensed Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) with a strong understanding of behavioral interventions, trauma‑informed practice, and providing services for students from Pre‑K through age 21. The BCBA will provide direct support and consultation to the Options program staff, classroom staff, and caregivers of these students and to administrators and students in grades Pre‑K through grade 5. Other responsibilities include collaboration with outside agencies and behavioral analysis experts as appropriate. Responsibilities Use applied behavior analysis principles to develop comprehensive and individualized behavior plans, strategies, and interventions for students with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. Conduct observations, consult with staff to coordinate strategies and ensure communication between school and home, and facilitate progress toward behavior intervention goals. Collect data for Functional Behavior Assessments, analyze results, and make recommendations for strategy implementation or modifications. Support and consult Intensive Programs (IDSC/OPTIONS) by training and modeling data collection for teachers and assistants. Assist teachers in developing task analysis, discrete trials, and programming using functional skills assessments (e.g., VBMAPP, ABLLS, AFLS). Collaborate with the special education team to develop IEP goals related to behavior reduction and skill acquisition. Coordinate with school psychologists, counselors, social workers, clinicians, and special education teachers to address social/emotional needs and implement social skills activities. Develop and maintain data collection systems, analyze data, and provide feedback to staff and parents on intervention progress. Prepare written reports and review data regularly to inform instruction and track progress. Model intervention and data collection techniques for direct service providers and classroom teachers. Consult with parents and outside providers to generalize programming across settings. Deliver professional development on behavior management as required. Serve on the MTSS team when data indicates need and participate in meetings to discuss behavior impact on curriculum access. Maintain physical restraint certification and trainer certification (QBS) and train staff in QBS Safety Care Protocols. Qualifications Valid BCBA license and BCBA certification. Graduation from an accredited program for Behavioral Analysis. Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Analysis, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of ABA treatment experience, preferably in a school environment. Experience with occupational therapy in educational settings is desirable. Excellent clinical and collaborative skills working with students, families, and school personnel. Experience working with students having varied diagnoses, diverse functioning levels, and broad age ranges. Proficiency in assessment and behavior intervention strategies. Strong organizational, time‑management, and report‑writing skills. Certification in Crisis Prevention Training (QBS Safety Care). Citizenship or lawful residency/work authorization required. Additional Information Desired qualifications include at least 3 years of relevant experience and a master’s degree.
