As a Customer Service Representative at the Macon-Bibb County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Job Responsibilities Under general supervision, coordinate and perform a variety of mail, records, supply, and delivery functions to support the daily operations of the health department. This role also works and communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and services targeted to meet customer expectations. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and routine deliveries to departments throughout the health department in a timely manner. Process official Release of Information (ROI) requests and maintain secure health records in accordance with confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA. Accurately issue negative test result notifications to clients or healthcare providers. Monitor inventory levels throughout the health department and review supply requisitions submitted by staff. Process orders for medical and office supplies and ensure requested items are available as needed. Deliver ordered supplies to the appropriate departments or designated storage areas. Conduct periodic inventory audits to track stock levels, minimize waste, and prevent supply shortages Perform additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities and essential functions may change to meet organizational needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 1 (GST120) or position equivalent.
