Patient Service Representative

Location: Orlando, FL, US Job Summary Oversee the administrative duties of the Center. Responsible for moving the patients through the check‑in and check‑out process. Primary Functions Provide a courteous, professional working environment. Maintain effective communication with patients, coworkers, and supervisor. Maintain efficient patient flow; update patient demographics; interview patients for sliding fee‑scale services; update eligibility. Verify insurance and set eligibility dates in system. Call and remind patients to bring missing information to their appointment. Collect payments and patient‑responsible balances. Post charges to patient accounts. Scan and import demographic and clinical documentation into patient charts. Schedule appointments as needed. Monitor patient schedule to accommodate walk‑in patients. Direct patients to the proper department for assistance. Answer a multi‑line telephone system. Operate office equipment such as fax, copier, computer, and credit‑card machine. Provide copies of patient medical records as requested. Contribute to the positive image of the front‑office operations. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Customer‑friendly attitude. Knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT codes. Money and balancing skills. Knowledge of bank deposits. Ability to function effectively under stress. Good evaluative judgment. Ability to perform accurate data entry. Ability to work well with people. Ability to multi‑task. Additional Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) is a plus. One year of experience preferred. Relationship Reporting Reports to the Center Manager. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods. Ability to handle and/or feel objects, tools, etc. Ability to frequently walk, stand, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities must include vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
