Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic team to provide exceptional legal services in family law and estate planning. This role requires a proactive individual with litigation experience and a commitment to client satisfaction. Duties Manage a diverse caseload in family law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, and estate litigation. Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests. Conduct depositions and affidavits for clients and witnesses. Perform and interpret legal research. Handle shifting timelines and priorities across multiple cases. Set and manage client expectations throughout the legal process. Provide support for other case types as needed. Requirements Admission to the Maryland Bar; DC Bar admission is advantageous. Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in family law. Experience in estate planning, guardianships, probate, or estate litigation is beneficial. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with case management software, Clio preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications Admission to the Maryland Bar. Skills Strong legal research and analytical skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
