Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,438 per week

Labor and Delivery – LD RN – Travel Nurse TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a travel nursing position in Los Angeles, CA. The assignment is 13 weeks in duration with 36 hours per week, scheduled on 12‑hour day shifts. As a L&D Travel Nurse you will provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery, ensuring both medical and emotional needs are met throughout the birthing process. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with epidurals and pain medication, performing episiotomies, preparing patients for cesarean deliveries, and providing immediate care for newborns. Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor. Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques. Check cervix periodically to monitor progression and lack of dilation. Maintain clean and dry patient beds; clean up bodily fluids before and after the birthing process. Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, and other equipment. Provide immediate care for the newborn. Physical demands include standing and walking for long periods, bending, leaning, stooping without difficulty, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. The role requires good stress‑coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. BLS, ACLS, AWHONN, NRP, FHM certifications required; at least 3 years of recent acute care experience. Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
