What You'll Do

Provide post-operative recovery care to pediatric and adult patients in all major surgical services
Support regional anesthesia, ECT, and other specialized procedures
Float to pediatric PACU as needed, ensuring smooth patient transitions
Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
Support up to 2 patients at a time in a fast-paced environment

What You Need
Required:

Active ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications
Experience in PACU or Pre/Post Op care
Ability to float to pediatric PACU when necessary
Strong clinical skills in post-operative care

Preferred:

Epic EMR experience
Prior experience working in a high-volume surgical setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

About the Assignment
This position is at a reputable facility in New Orleans, supporting patients through preoperative and postoperative recovery phases across a busy surgical department with 34 operating rooms. The unit cares for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and adults, and handles cases involving regional anesthesia and other specialized procedures. Flexibility to float between adult and pediatric PACU is essential to meet patient care needs. The unit's team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative environment.
