Product Certification Field Technician (Part-Time | Massachusetts)

We are seeking an experienced Product Certification Field Technician to conduct surveillance inspections and verify compliance with product certification requirements in manufacturing environments. This part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) offers a flexible combination of remote work and field-based inspections throughout Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections at manufacturing and production facilities.
• Review production processes, quality systems, testing procedures, and certification requirements.
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed compliance reports.
• Verify corrective actions and follow up on non-compliance issues.
• Communicate inspection results and recommendations to clients.
• Manage your own schedule, travel, and inspection workload.
• Utilize company-provided technology to complete reporting and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, inspection, auditing, or manufacturing.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Experience reviewing manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, tablets, and digital documentation tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics, Systems Technology, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or similar discipline.
• Experience with product certification programs, UL, ETL, or compliance inspections.
• Background in manufacturing, construction, or electrical product inspection.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boxborough, MA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
