Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher certification – please provide proof upon application.
• Experience working with high school students, preferably in cognitive impairment or similar self-contained classroom settings.
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and commitment to individualized instruction.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and related services.
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to diverse learning needs and maintain a supportive, structured environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging instruction tailored to students’ individual learning goals and IEPs.
• Assess student progress, document outcomes, and participate actively in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff to create an inclusive classroom climate.
• Develop positive relationships with students, fostering their social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Implement behavioral management strategies that promote independence and self-advocacy.
• Communicate regularly with families, ensuring a partnership in student development.
