School Nurse

Qualifications: Registered Nurse or LPN Certification required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual skills helpful. Training in CPR and first aid required. Strong organizational skills and ability to work with details and maintain accurate and thorough records. Strong project management skills, including personal initiative and ability to coordinate with others.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time. Must be able to use physical ability to lift students and perform other manipulations to diaper, toilet, feed, dress, and assist students with other daily living skills. Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to participate in de-escalation training and implementation (if applicable).

General Description: Duties assigned by the Principal and/or Certified School Nurse, including: Displays professionalism, including integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and activities throughout the day. Demonstrates cooperation, collaboration, openness for growth and willingness to contribute in a team approach. Assists Principal and Certified School Nurse in maintenance and confidentiality of all student health records. Administers first aid and care to sick or injured students. Under the direction of the District Nurse, voluntarily dispenses medications to students according to instructions provided by the student's parents, physician, and the District's policies and procedures. Maintains first aid supplies. Communicates with parents regarding health policies, illnesses, injuries, etc. Assists with vision and hearing screening, as directed. Answers office telephones and respond appropriately to request for information or direct the caller to the person(s) with proper information. Greets all visitors courteously, determine their needs, check appointments, maintain visitor logs, and direct or escort them to proper person. Processes visitors through Raptor system, as needed. Attends and participate in assigned meetings and trainings, as directed. Attends team meetings and parent-teacher conferences, if requested or as appropriate. Performs other similar duties as directed by the teacher or the principal.

Terms of Employment: All student attendance days, Institute Days, and Workdays, with an additional five days as determined by the Principal. 7.5 hours per day. Salary to be established by the Board of Education (RN: $36.36/hour). Health Insurance and Dental Insurance. Sick and Personal Days.

Evaluation: The Principal will serve as the evaluator with performance reviewed annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board Policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel. Beginning Date: August 2026
