Position Overview Stability Support Specialist (Social Service Assistant) – Limited Duration Position (until 06/30/2027). This full‑time, employee position is within the Child Welfare Program and focuses on supporting children and families in Oregon. Responsibilities Provide safe transportation for youth to school, appointments, and social activities. Supervise youth in the office, community, and homes. Coordinate activities that engage youth. Gather and document information from case providers, clients, family members, schools, and other sources to support family time planning. Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well‑being of youth, including monitoring school attendance and appointments. Offer behavioral support, including redirection and guidance as needed. Minimum Qualifications Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting, **or** an Associate’s degree in any field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential Attributes Experience engaging diverse individuals and de‑escalating tense situations while maintaining boundaries. Experience collaborating with co‑staff and other team members to ensure seamless care. Experience communicating clearly with team members and leads for efficient operations. Experience applying equitable practices and trauma‑informed care in client interactions. Ability to adapt flexibly to changing environments and shifting priorities. Ability to identify problems and generate effective solutions. Working Conditions Work locations include offices, participants’ homes, community sites, hospitals, and hotels. Occasional travel, including overnight trips, may be required for meetings, trainings, and case‑related activities. The position requires Monday–Friday shifts (8AM–5PM) with flexibility for early or late work and occasional weekend availability. Physical requirements include frequent activity and lifting up to 50pounds. The role involves exposure to sensitive topics such as trauma, abuse, and crises, requiring a trauma‑informed approach. Background Checks and Requirements Selected finalists will undergo a criminal history and background check, with adverse findings potentially leading to disqualification. Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) via a fingerprint‑based check. U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work is required, confirmed by the I‑9 form and E‑Verify. Benefits Eligible for benefits as a limited‑duration employee.
