Job Description As a Security Officer Hospital Access Control in Downey, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time / Graveyard Shift Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Mon 10:00 PM – 06:30 AM, Tue 10:00 PM – 06:30 AM, Wed 10:00 PM – 06:30 AM, Thu 10:00 PM – 06:30 AM, Sun 10:00 PM – 06:30 AM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or medical-related situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including hallways, waiting areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter spaces, to help deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access points and visitor activity, helping to verify authorized entry and/or directing individuals according to location protocols. Support a professional environment by observing for unusual conditions, assisting with de‑escalation when needed, and communicating security-related issues to supervisors and/or client representatives. Minimum Requirements: Customer service experience is preferred. A guard card or license is preferred. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
