Traveling Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic

Established solar tracking installation company is seeking a heavy equipment mechanic that is able to travel and repair heavy equipment in the field on large scale ground mount solar sites throughout the US. This is a long term position. All travel costs are prepaid (hotel, airfare, and rental truck). Pay ranging from $40-45/hr depending on experience + daily per diem.

This role requires a candidate with experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, specifically in troubleshooting hydraulic machinery used for post and foundation preparations. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver's license and be able to provide proof upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic machinery used for post pounding and drilling.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and circuit diagnosis.
• Conduct hydraulic, pneumatic, and valve repairs.
• Repair heavy equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC systems.

Job Qualifications:

• 5 years as a heavy equipment mechanic
• Previous experience troubleshooting skills in the areas of hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical systems
• Experience with controls (encoders, CANBUS, linear transducers, PLC, etc.)
• Heavy equipment diagnostics (CAT, Cummins)
• Welding and fabrication
• Excellent judgement and able to make responsible decisions
• Ability to work independently without constant direction
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences both internally and externally
• This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license and provide proof that s/he has a valid driver's license upon being hired.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
