Location Williamsburg, Virginia Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred). Experience: 1 year prior health care experience in hospital setting (Preferred). Licenses and Certification Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from Virginia Department of Health Professions – Upon Hire (Required) EMT-B (Basic) from Virginia Department of Health Professions or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians – Upon Hire (Required) Medical Assistant Program Graduate – Upon Hire (Required) Currently enrolled in LPN or RN Nursing diploma or degree program with 80 hours completed – Upon Hire (Required) BLS required upon hire Overview Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse/LPN and Nurse Manager/Director in the personal care of hospital patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. The role includes demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the assigned unit, promoting and maintaining a safe work environment for staff and patients, and aligning with national patient safety initiatives. Responsibilities Confirm technological systems for patient data collection and maintain them Ensure availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) to support positive patient outcomes Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations, equipment, stocking supplies, and properly storing equipment Follow plan of care and perform treatments and procedures competently/independently under the direction of RN/LPN, including enemas, vital signs, ice application, compresses, perineal care, rectal tube, sitz bath, unsterile sites, strain urine for stones, specimen collection, etc., as required by unit/facility competency Follow the plan of care to ensure patients receive consistent, competent and ethical care, maintaining privacy and respecting patient value system Provide care consistent with verbal and/or written instructions and understand assigned plans of care within the appropriate scope of practice Accurately complete all required documentation Participate positively in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students as needed #J-18808-Ljbffr 101 Riverside Hospital, Inc.
