Assembler I, Assembly - Skilled

Assembler for the AED department. Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment. Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements.


1. Technical skills
• > 6 months experience
• Technical skills include:
o Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy
o Ability to follow work instructions, SOPs, and visual aids
o Basic mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination
o Experience using hand tools and small assembly equipment
o Ability to read and understand production documents and labels


2. Quality skills
• 6 months experience
• Quality skills include:
o Attention to detail
o Ability to identify defects and nonconforming materials
o Understanding of quality standards and documentation requirements
o Ability to follow one-piece flow and standardized work
o Commitment to accuracy in material scanning and traceability
o Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)


3. Safety skills
• 6 months experience
• Safety skills include:
o Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
o Consistent use of required PPE
o Ability to identify and report safety hazards
o Safe material handling and ergonomic practices
o Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area
