Quality Control Analyst I

Job Overview Polysciences technical operations and scientific laboratories offer custom synthesis, contract manufacturing and packaging, and laboratory products. The QC Analyst I is responsible for performing analytical analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, intermediate products, and final products per approved internal and customer specifications following procedures to support product manufacturing and commercial product release. The role works under supervision of more experienced analysts and follows established protocols. Responsibilities Perform routine analytical analysis using equipment such as volumetric glassware, balances, pH meter, conductometer, Karl Fisch, TOC, turbidimeter, GC (FID/MS), atomic absorption and others as required. Analyze QC data and enter data into electronic systems and hard copy documentation following good documentation practices. Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams including production, quality assurance, and planning. Report out‑of‑spec results to the QC Manager or designee and assist with compiling investigation reports. Perform daily and monthly analytical equipment verification and maintenance. Assist with review and revision of procedures and test methods. Assist with laboratory inventory maintenance. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment (5S) for all QC areas. Support process improvements within the QC laboratory. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field. At least one year of experience in an ISO 13485 or FDA GMP regulated environment. Experience with quality control GMP documentation of analytical testing results and assurance of laboratory data integrity and compliance. Knowledge of analytical equipment, analytical methods, and data analysis. Knowledge of compendial methods such as USP, EP, ISO, ASTM. Experience with Open Lab, Chem Station, and/or Empower analytical software preferred. Proficiency with Adobe, Microsoft Word and Excel. Immediate Work Environment Immediate work environment includes chemicals that may be unprotected in height, fumes and gases that may be persistent, and noise that may be persistent. Personal protective equipment used includes lab coat, safety shoes, and safety glasses. Work Activity Stand 4 times a day, walk 1 time a day, sit 3 times a day.
