Role Description The Assistant Manager at Vans at thr Domain in Austin, TX is a full-time, on-site role focused on supporting store leadership in driving an engaging, customer-centric environment. This role assists with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, inventory management, and cash handling. The Assistant Manager helps lead, coach, and develop store associates to deliver exceptional service, meet sales goals, and uphold brand standards. They collaborate with the Store Manager on staffing, scheduling, and performance feedback, and ensure company policies, safety standards, and loss prevention procedures are consistently followed. The role also involves monitoring store metrics, identifying opportunities to improve overall performance, and fostering a culture that reflects Vans’ values of authenticity, creativity, and community. Qualifications Experience in retail or customer-facing environments, with skills in customer service, sales support, and building positive shopper experiences. Foundational leadership abilities, including team coaching, delegation, performance feedback, and contributing to a collaborative work environment. Operational skills in basic merchandising, inventory handling, cash management, and adherence to store policies and procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, teammates, and leadership in a clear and respectful manner. Ability to work on-site at The Domain in Austin, TX with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Comfort with basic technology used in retail settings (point-of-sale systems, inventory tools, and communication platforms). Demonstrated alignment with Vans’ brand values, interest in skate or youth culture, and commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.
