Accounting TechnicianOur small but progressive educational organization needs a reliable, organized Accounting Technician with payroll experience to support our Director of Business Services. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, a desire to work efficiently within a team and independently. We are looking for someone who can operate effectively with little supervision and who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Essential DutiesPayroll: Initiate, calculate, verify, and complete Ed District payroll system; maintain and update all employee payroll information; payroll processing; semi-monthly preparation of payroll for employees including accounts payable for payroll liabilities; maintain personnel files to keep up to date with changes in salaryHuman Resources: Provide on-boarding for new hires; support staff with benefit administration; work with Business Manager to maintain current policies and procedures regarding HR and benefitsBenefits: Maintain personnel files to keep with benefits for staff; update payroll system with changes to employee information and benefits; verify compliance in 403(b), FSA, HRA/HSA, FMLA, and COBRA; prepare monthly PERA and TRA reports; complete quarterly/annual tax and wage reporting; verify annual information to accurately prepare W-2's, and 1095's for Ed District employees; maintain records for 1099 reportingAccounts Payables: Oversee Accounts Payable according to schedule; assist with invoice preparation and monitoring payment receiptsPD Claims: Oversee district staff development and collaborative planning claim formsOther Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor; promote and maintain high ethical and confidential standardsEducation & Training: Associate's degree in accounting OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job related field that enables performance of all aspects of this position. Work Experience Preferred: Three or more years working in a related position. Work hours are typically business hours only, but may require extended hours from time to time. The work is mostly sedentary and can require the exertion of up to 25 pounds or force occasionally. Frequent computer use is required including long periods without movement.Salary and Benefits: Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 (subject to negotiated agreement and work experience).
