PAY RATE $15.50/Hour POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Revenue Control Manager, the Revenue Control Clerk assists with the overall processing, verifying, and balancing of cash, coins and checks from the Zoo & Aquarium’s revenue-generating departments and events. POSITION DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties Percentage Assists with the processing of Zoo & Aquarium revenue, including: Verifying and handling large sums of currency and coins. Reporting revenue accurately in cashier balance sheets. Entering and reviewing daily revenue reports. Performing monthly audits. 60% Assists in guest service areas, such as retail and admissions, as needed. 20% Collects coin, cash, tickets and balances from Zoo & Aquarium vending machines. 10% Assists with daily cash bank creation and distribution for staff. 10% This position may at times be requested to perform other duties or special projects as assigned, which are in the best interest of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required. Some post-secondary education with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting is desired. EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of experience in cash handling preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required. OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, in all weather extremes. Must pass a background and drug screening.
