Position overview:

The Electronics Component Buyer is responsible for planning and organizing the purchasing of electronic components for use in commercial and consumer electronic devices. Responsibility will include analyzing data, reading part demand/requirements reports, developing stocking strategies, placing purchase orders and monitoring deliveries against placed orders.

Day on the Job may include:

• Reviews planned orders, creates requisitions for purchased items, and manages approval process
• Tracks order acknowledgement, prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports, and provides visibility of potential interruptions to internal customers
• Tracks and Ships orders and confirms system lead times, delivery dates, and costs
• Reviews, updates, and maintains purchase orders until they are closed
• Ensures orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts
• Manages kitting of inventory for New Product development
• Work closely with engineering team on finding and introducing new product designs
• Analyzes, evaluates, and identifies preferred vendors based on specific performance criteria
• Identifies opportunities and implements actions to achieve efficiencies
• Ability to work well with all departments within the company
• Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory
• Research and sell excess inventory as needed
• Professional Appearance is a must

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in supply chain, business or engineering.
• Strong computer skills including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Experience working in consumer electronics
• Experience purchasing PCBs, electronic components, and metal fabrications
• Solid understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
• Desire to deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Attention to detail, follow through ability and initiative are critical
• Ability to prioritize, work proficiently under time constraints, process information quickly and make comprehensive business decisions
• Purchasing principles and practices
• Price negotiation skills

Extra Awesome:

• 3 years related experience
• Experience reading engineering documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Purchasing and inventory experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with consigned inventory
