Clinical Partner - Days - Progressive High Unit

Job Summary Assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients. Job Responsibilities Receives patient care assignment from the registered nurse (RN) in charge. Initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence for specific patient age groups. Collects and documents data for admission assessment and reassessment at scheduled times. Provides appropriate data to the licensed nurse for analysis and validation of patient responses to care or treatment; alerts the nurse to significant changes. Relays information via charting and communicates with team members. Notifies the licensed nurse of changes in patient condition or needs, patient complaints, and educational needs of patient or significant others. Answers patient calls for help, takes vital signs, and monitors behavior and physical condition for progress or deterioration. Assists with baths, ambulation, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene, and bed making. Performs dressing changes, enemas, ostomy care, toileting, turning, cough and deep breathing exercises, catheter care, collection of biological specimens, and measures and records intake and output of fluids. Prepares patients for discharge and accompanies them upon dismissal as indicated. Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment in accordance with patient care needs and cost containment principles. Assists with delegated clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages, transcribing physician orders, and preparing and organizing the patient’s medical record. Orientates new patients and significant others to the nursing unit. Operates equipment mechanically and manually as recommended in the user’s manual, recognizing common mechanical problems and initiating appropriate corrective action. May perform point‑of‑care testing according to policies and procedures. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements You must have at least one of the following: Missouri CNA License Prior experience as a Nurse Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Surgical Technician, Patient Care Technician (PCT), or Behavioral Health Technician Enrolled in a Nursing program and completed the Fundamentals of Nursing program Required professional licenses and/or certifications (State of work location determines specific requirements): Illinois – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Missouri – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) – Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Oklahoma – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Advanced Unlicensed Assistant – Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Oklahoma State Department of Health Wisconsin – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry Education No experience required. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking; frequent use of hearing and speech to share information. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25lbs. Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent vision for distances near (≤20in) and far (≥20ft) and to identify and distinguish colors. Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50lbs.; occasional lifting and moving patients. Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Occasional driving.
