We are currently seeking a Tech Lead - Java and Microservices to join our team in Dublin, Dublin (IE-D), Ireland (IE).

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead - Java to join our Consulting team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Java programming, software architecture, and design patterns, as well as a proven track record of successfully leading technical teams in a financial services environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the development of innovative applications that adhere to industry regulations while delivering exceptional performance and security. Your expertise will guide project teams in implementing best practices, optimizing processes, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. In addition to your technical skills, effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities will be essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of Java-based applications in the financial services sector.
• Oversee technical project delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Monitor application performance and security, implementing necessary enhancements and optimizations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Experience and skills required

• A strong background in retail financial services advisory (preferably 10+ years of change management / project experience) and a proven ability to quickly understand the technology strategy and objectives
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or similar role in software development, specifically using Java and Microservices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• An IT background with a solid grounding in technology
• Experience of working in both Agile & waterfall SDLCs
• Communication, group dynamics, collaboration and continuous improvement are core – being best practice driven
• 2.1 or higher in a related discipline from an academic institution; Masters a plus
