About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital required License: State Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - Must have experience managing drips - Must have EPIC charting experience - Must be comfortable taking care of behavioral health patient populations Description: This position offers both 36-hour and 48-hour options over a 13-week contract. Travelers will be required to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Regional blackout dates due to local events apply. The unit is a 20-bed general medical surgical and telemetry unit that treats various patients. Patients may include those recovering from total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, and various medical conditions. The unit consists of a split floor, with the 7th floor designated for medical/surgical patients with behavioral health conditions. This floor is secured, and training for safety and de-escalation will be provided. Travelers must be prepared for frequent floating, which may include other units on campus. Ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with rare exceptions. Travelers should expect 4 weekend shifts out of possible 8 in a 4-week period. Two weeks of requested time off permitted prior to submission. Travelers must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Candidates must be more than 100 miles from the facility; local applicants will not be considered. Flu vaccination is not required, but COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory, with exemptions allowed. All travelers must adhere to a 100% nicotine-free policy. Travelers will wear designated scrubs provided by the employer.
