RN Unit Manager

Position: RN Unit Manager Location: Essex County, New Jersey Shift: Full Time | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay Rate: $100,000 – $110,000 About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in delivering exceptional care to residents while providing leadership and guidance to nursing staff. Key Responsibilities Assist the DON and ADON in evaluating and directing day-to-day nursing department operations. Ensure all nursing personnel adhere to their job responsibilities and standards. Review and address complaints or grievances, reporting as appropriate to the DON. Manage unit operations and staffing, optimizing coverage and minimizing overtime or agency use. Provide progressive counseling and initiate disciplinary actions when necessary. Supervise professional and non-professional staff, ensuring quality care delivery. Attend committee meetings as requested and contribute to facility initiatives. Assume nursing responsibilities during weekends and holidays as needed. Participate in the development and evaluation of quality assurance activities. Teach, demonstrate, and evaluate nursing skills for resident care. Oversee MDS completion and collaborate on discharge planning with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Prepare reports, review records, and assist in data collection. Participate in staff recruitment, including interviews and candidate selection. Foster a caring, compassionate environment that prioritizes the needs and rights of residents. Requirements Valid RN license in New Jersey. Previous long-term care experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related healthcare setting preferred. At least 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
