English Language Arts (Leave replacement 9/1/26-12/11/26)

William Annin Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Arts educator for a temporary leave replacement position from September 1, 2026, to December 11, 2026. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading and writing among students while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. This position requires collaboration with faculty, parents, and the community to promote student achievement and well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students. Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and activities that encourage critical thinking and creativity. Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, providing timely feedback and support. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for literature. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English Language Arts curriculum and participate in professional development opportunities. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and classroom activities. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments. Participate in school events and meetings as required. Requirements Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts for middle school. Previous teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level. Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and best practices in instruction. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment. Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance learning.
