Location 406 Grand Canyon Drive, Madison, WI 53719 Benefits Healthcare benefits effective the first day of employment 15% annual performance‑based bonus potential Immediate retirement savings: 401(k) with company match, no waiting period Profit sharing after 90 days of employment Holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter (store closed) Work/life balance with flexible retail schedule Responsibilities Support and execute in‑store promotional activities with high engagement and oversight Serve as a servant leader: interview, hire, orient, and train new associates; act as role model, mentor, and resource Manage performance by coaching for success Assess voice‑of‑customer data to identify customer experience gaps, product selection needs, and improvement opportunities Develop the weekly work schedule using the workforce management tool to meet labor targets while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws Execute and grow external order programs such as e‑commerce and express orders Qualifications At least 3 years of grocery or retail management experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Hands‑on leadership experience in grocery retail (e.g., produce, deli/bakery, or meat/seafood departments) preferred Ability to work a demanding schedule: 50+ hours per week, including 10‑hour days, pre‑opening/closing shifts, and occasional six‑day weeks Knowledge of safe food handling and storage practices Business acumen to analyze financial reports and make decisions that positively influence outcomes Physical ability to unload merchandise from delivery trucks, organize merchandise, and transfer from stockroom to store High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred Valid driver’s license and safe driving record Equal Employment Opportunity Equal Employment Opportunity is a matter of policy at Gordon Food Service, Inc. and we are committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
