Job Description English Teacher Beginning August 2026 Description: Fay School seeks a dynamic, flexible, and creative English Teacher who understands how to engage and inspire elementary and middle school students. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a subject-area degree and previous English teaching experience. Outside the classroom, the English teacher is an advisor to a small group of students, coaches or assists in afternoon programs, and may participate in the residential life program. This is a full-time position and is eligible for benefits. Campus housing may be available. This is a 10-month, in-person position. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in English, English teaching, education, or a related field is required. A master's degree is strongly preferred. Responsibilities: Preparing and delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons to students in grades 7-9 Effectively using technology to enhance instruction and learning Assessing student performance and providing feedback that supports growth and development Conducting parent conferences and communicating effectively with parents and families Collaborate with colleagues in grade-level team meetings and department meetings As an advisor, serve as a primary point of contact for parents and families Engage in two trimesters of afternoon duties as assigned Actively support and promote a school culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging. The annual salary is determined by years of teaching experience and ranges from $65,000 to $103,000.
