Details:
Type: Full Time
Location: Valley View, OH
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
Benefits : Eligible for full benefits package after 60 days
Schedule : 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

Job Summary:
The Dock Attendant is responsible for supporting the efficient flow of materials, finished goods, and shipments through the facility's shipping and receiving docks. This role ensures accurate loading, unloading, staging, and documentation of products while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and company procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Load and unload trailers, trucks, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation.
• Inspect materials for damage, discrepancies, and quality concerns.
• Stage materials and finished products in designated warehouse or dock areas.
• Operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (if certified).
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.
• Communicate with warehouse, production, and transportation personnel regarding shipment status.
• Ensure docks, trailers, and work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) where applicable.
• Report equipment malfunctions, damaged products, or safety concerns to supervision.
• Support production and warehouse operations as required.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or dock experience (1 Year).
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to accurately read and complete shipping and receiving documentation.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse and manufacturing conditions, including temperature changes and noise

• Accurate shipment processing.
• Timely loading and unloading materials.
• Safe operation of equipment.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintenance of organized dock and warehouse areas.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks
• Ability to stand for 8 hours or more
• Ability to hear, talk and walk (meet annual requirements Hearing test and ability to perform the job)
• Must pass a physical and background check
