Maintenance Specialist I Location: Lincoln, NE | Salary: $21.836 Department: Administrative Services Building Division Job Duties Maintain the physical plant through repairs and preventive maintenance. Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, groundskeeping and other skilled trades work. Schedule and perform specialized preventive maintenance and repairs for equipment, systems, and machinery to ensure necessary inspection, adjustment and replacement of parts. Maintain accurate inventory of all stock and commonly used maintenance parts. Complete duties as assigned with or without supervision. Other duties within the scope of the classification. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum: Associate’s degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred: Certification/Completion Diploma in applicable maintenance trade(s); licensed in one or more applicable maintenance fields. Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation. Work Hours Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, including rotating on‑call work. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and building maintenance equipment. Basic office and computer skills, including use of email and building system applications. Operation and preservation of maintenance tools and equipment. Use of basic grounds‑keeping equipment.
