Registered Nurse Infusion

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Clinic Infusion setting is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapies, including oncology, MS, GI, neurology, transplant, and obstetric patients. This role involves administering medications, managing infusion treatments, monitoring patient reactions, and providing emergency care as needed. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care, requiring at least two years of relevant experience and certification in BLS, with additional REMS training provided if necessary. Responsibilities:

• Administer infusion therapies including chemotherapy, iron, and drugs for MS, GI, neurology, and transplant patients.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide emergency treatment as required.
• Perform patient assessments and document clinical information accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain compliance with infusion safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Educate patients and families on infusion procedures and post-treatment care.
• Participate in ongoing training such as REMS for Tysabri administration when applicable.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in infusion or outpatient settings.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Proficiency in infusion therapy and emergency treatment of infusion reactions.
• Knowledge of medication administration for oncology, MS, GI, neurology, transplant, and obstetric patients.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) training for Tysabri administration.
• Experience working in ambulatory infusion centers or similar outpatient environments.

Special Considerations:

• Permanent candidates from non-Swedish Providence facilities are eligible for travel contracts after a minimum 3-month separation.
• Active compact nursing licenses are honored across Swedish facilities.
• Infusion center environment with patient diagnoses including oncology, MS, GI, neurology, transplant, and obstetrics.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week.
• No weekend or holiday shifts required.
