All Inns of Aurora employees are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics as defined in the Inns of Aurora, LLC handbook:• Courage• Initiative• Dependability• Flexibility• Integrity• Judgment• Respect for othersThe Bartender is responsible for serving drinks to bar and dining room guests while creating and maintaining a fun, yet safe and responsible environment.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:Serve wine, beer, liquor and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guestsMemorize drink recipes and prepare a varied menu of mixed drinks for guestsServe snack or food items to guests seated at bar areaReceive and prepare drink orders from guests or serversDevelop and maintain interpersonal relationships with repeat guestsCheck identification for guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholic drinksRemain aware of guest alcohol limits and level of orderliness at the bar per TIPS trainingCut fruit for specialty drinksStock bar with adequate amounts of wine, beer, liquor and other beveragesStock other bar related supplies, as neededAssist with creation of bar menusPlan, organize and control the operations in the bar areaPresent checks, collect payment and cash out each guest correctly with transaction receiptsComplete and check cash-out at the end of shiftClean glasses, utensils and bar equipmentMop and scrub floors, sinks, coolers and counters at the end of each shiftComplete all side work and daily cleaning tasksAdhere to other cleaning duties required at end of shiftAttend all mandatory training and meetingsMaintain positive and helpful attitude with all guests and employeesMaintain professional demeanor and adhere to proper dress policy, as defined in the IOA handbookFollow guidelines and expectations as stated in the employee handbookReport all issues in the dining area to restaurant management teamOther duties, as assignedPrevious bartending experienceAbility to maintain neat, professional and clean appearance and practicesHigh level of professionalism and passion for the industryAbility to work while standing for long periods of timeAbility to work in a team environment with servers, bartenders, chefs and other Inns of Aurora employeesAbility to adhere to proper food regulation standard and health and safety standardsAbility to maintain calm and collected demeanor under stressful and fast-paced working conditionsFlexibility with guests and hourly schedulesPreferences:Local wine, food and fine-dining knowledgeKnowledge and understanding of workplace safety proceduresSpecial Position Requirements:TIPS certification; will train as neededWe are proud to offer outstanding benefits to all of our employees.Full-time employees, those working 30 hours per week or more on average, are offered competitive medical and dental benefits, as well as generous paid time off packages.Full-time and part-time employees are eligible to participate in our 401K program and supplementary benefits.We are particularly proud to offer all of our employees a highly competitive employee discount at all of our lodging and dining properties.
