Event Operations Manager

Backal Hospitality Group is seeking a versatile highly engaged Event Operations Manager to lead event execution across our elevated Eastlake properties, which include dedicated corporate amenity spaces and catering commissary.

Working in partnership with the Director of Operations, this role requires a leader who can orchestrate corporate and private events while seamlessly pivoting supporting daily restaurant operations at Lucerna during decreased business levels. The individual will act as the operational bridge between event clients, culinary and service teams to ensure a cohesive, high-quality hospitality experience. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work Flow: Direct the setup, execution, and breakdown of events across our Alexandria Real Estate Equities amenity spaces and other Eastlake venues
• Event Execution: Manage catering logistics, including coordinating with the commissary kitchen and dispatching the delivery van for off-site or cross-property needs
• Operations: Actively assist in daily floor operations, guest service, and staff deployment at Lucerna when the event calendar permits. Demonstrated ability to pivot between structured event execution and fast-paced restaurant floor
• Systems: Oversee event and restaurant billing utilizing the Toast POS system and KDS screens to ensure accurate order routing and revenue tracking
• Scheduling: Schedule hourly event team members, maintaining clear accountability and high service standards
• Guest Engagement: Serve as the primary on-site contact for event clients, ensuring execution fully aligns with contracted terms and BEOs
• Mentorship: Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively

A successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in event operations, catering, or high-volume restaurant management. Strong communication and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work a flexible schedule based on events. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record required to operate the catering delivery van that will be provided for transportation efforts.
